Mr. Briody is a Director at Atlantic Data Forensics and has provided data collections & culling, forensic analysis, and expert testimony for clients that range from those on the Fortune 50 to the nation's most prestigious research and educational institutions.
Mr. Briody has worked on matters involving homicide, SEC investigations, intellectual property theft, patent interference, employment disputes, research and insurance fraud, hacker / data breach and reporting scenarios, and more. Mr. Briody regularly writes and presents on the intersection between law and technology, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & Digital Forensics, and is recognized as both a Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) by the ISFCE and a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) by the ISC2.
Mr. Briody graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) from Champlain College in Burlington, VT, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Digital Forensics. Mr. Briody earned his Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) credential — issued by the International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners — in 2011, and in 2014, Mr. Briody tested for and obtained both the Certified Cyber Forensics Professional (CCFP) and Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) credentials.
Mr. Briody is an experienced author. Aside from opining for his clients via written affidavits, declarations, and expert reports, Mr. Briody has authored content for organizations with varied readerships that span from the nationally-recognized, such as Law.com and the American Bar Association, to publications that serve a local interest, such as North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. Along with his authorships, Mr. Briody was Co- Editor in Chief of an award-winning ABA publication in the Section of Litigation’s Technology for the Litigator Committee for over three years, during which time he was also honored by the ABA as an Outstanding Subcommittee Chair.
Mr. Briody is also an accomplished speaker, having created and co-presented original lectures for organizations such as Lawline.com, a nationally-recognized provider for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. Various other speaking roles include presentations at the Association of Research Integrity Officers (ARIO) Conference, local colleges and universities, and the Maryland State Bar Association, and live interviews like that on the forensics behind the Boston Marathon bombing with WBAL News Radio.
